This Buddhist Pilgrimage tour begins with your arrival in New Delhi, the capital of India. Our representative will meet you at the airport and accord you a traditional welcome with tikka, aarti, and garlands. You will be escorted to your hotel for check-in by our representative.Overnight in Delhi
After breakfast, embark on a Guided Sightseeing Tour of Delhi; attractions that we visit as part of the tour include the Jamma Masjid, Red Fort, India Gate, Rashthrapathi Bhawan, Qutub Minar, and Humayun Tomb.

Day 3 of this Buddha Pilgrimage Tour is scheduled to be a busy day. Early in the morning, check out from the hotel and embark on the drive to Agra for a sightseeing tour of the Taj Mahal & Agra Fort. We will have breakfast en-route.
On arrival at Agra, proceed directly on the sightseeing tour - our first stop will be at the monument of love - the Taj Mahal. After a stop for lunch, we will visit the Agra Fort and Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah (Baby Taj).
After refreshing ourselves at a hotel (pre-booked for day-use), we will proceed to Agra Railway Station to board the overnight train to Varanasi, the next stop on this pilgrimage tour.Overnight on-board the train to Varanasi
Our representative will receive you on your arrival at the Varanasi Junction and escort you to the pre-booked hotel for check-in. Once you are refreshed, set out to visit Sarnath, the first pilgrimage spot on your Buddhist pilgrimage tour.
Sarnath has a significant spot in Buddhism as it is the place where it all started, where Buddha delivered his first sermon. Visit the iconic landmarks such as the Chaukhandi Stupa, which marks the spot where Buddha met his first disciples. We will also visit the Dhamekh Stupa & Monastery Ruins, as well as the Thai, Burmese, Chinese, and Japanese Temples & Monasteries,

Day 5 of this pilgrimage tour begins very early in the morning, much before sunrise, with a drive to the ghats. We will embark on a Varanasi Boat Ride, a ride that takes us down the holy river Ganges, to witness the many ways in which the devotees in Varanasi begin their day. Holy dips, Surya Namaskars, chanting of hymns, ringing of bells, and the sight of hundreds of people immersing themselves in the chilly waters of the Ganges - this is a sight to behold and is best experienced from the boat. After the boat ride, we will visit the major temples of Varanasi for morning aarti.
Return to the hotel for breakfast and after refreshing yourself, check out from the hotel. We will now embark on the drive to Bodhgaya, another important Buddhist pilgrimage spot, and the place where Buddha first gained enlightenment, On arrival at Bodhgaya, visit the Mahabodhi Temple.
The Mahabodhi temple complex still has the tree under which Buddha meditated and got enlightened. Visit the temple, the stupas in the complex and the museum, before proceeding to check in at the pre-booked hotel.Overnight in Bodhgaya
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and enjoy a brief sightseeing tour of Bodhgaya and visit the museum and temples of the region. After the brief tour, we will set out on the drive to Patna, the next stop on this Buddhist Pilgrimage tour.
On arrival at Patna, check in at the hotel, relax for a while and then set out to explore this great city. We will visit the Patna Museum, where a sacred casket containing the ashes of Buddha is displayed.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel in Patna and embark on the road trip to Kushinagar, an important town of pilgrimage for Buddhist devotees. Buddha delivered his last sermon in Kushinagar; he died and attained Parinirvana here.
On arrival at Kushinagar, check in at pre-booked hotel and relax for a while, before proceeding on the visit to the pilgrimage spots of Kushinagar. Our first stop will be at the Ramabhar Stupa, a stupa which is little more than a magnificent mound of bricks, but marks the spot where Buddha was cremated. Many monks and Buddhist pilgrims can be seen meditating here.
Our next stop will be at the Nirvana Temple, also known as the Parinirvana Stupa. This temple marks the spot where Buddha died and attained Parinirvana. A large 6 ft statue of Buddha reclining on his right and facing the West is placed here, in honour of the same position that Buddha was in when he died. The statue rests on a stone couch.
We will also visit the Mathakaut Temple, where Buddha delivered his last sermon. It is also at this place that a black stone statue of Buddha in "Bhoomi Sparsha Mudra" form was found in excavations. The statue shows Buddha kneeling down with his head bowed and touching the ground in reverence, just before he gained enlightenment.
Additionally, we will visit the Thai, Chinese & Japanese Buddhist temples in the vicinity, before returning to the hotel.Overnight in Kushinagar
On Day 8 of this pilgrimage tour, we will check out from the hotel in Kushinagar and proceed on the road trip to Balrampur. On arrival, check in at the hotel and relax for a while.
After lunch, we will set out on an Excursion to Shravasti and the Sahet Mahet Archaeological Site.
Once one of the largest cities of India, Shravasti was where Buddha spent the majority of his life preaching and delivering sermons. Ancient buildings and sites related to Buddha have now become the main pilgrim spots for Buddhism. We will visit these and lateron head to the Sahet Mahet Archaeological Site, where many idols and inscriptions were found during excavations. After an early breakfast, check out from the hotel in Balrampur and set out on the cross-country road trip to Lumbini. On arrival at Lumbini, check in at the pre-booked hotel, refresh yourself, enjoy some refreshments, and then set out to visit the pilgrimage spots of this city.
Lumbini is the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, which makes it an important pilgrimage site for Buddhist devotees. Here, we will visit the Mayadevi Temple, the Holy Pond, and a sacred Bodhi tree. Later, we will return to the hotel.Overnight in Lumbini
After breakfast proceed to Lumbini. Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha, was located in 1890 after being untraced for 1,500 years. The Devi's Falls, on the other hand, is a beautiful waterfall that runs through underground tunnels and caves on reaching the bottom.
